Here's a simplified low down on how to buy the paperback book.
1. Lulu $23.19 US + $6.99 shipping = $30.19 I get $7 Royalty
2. Unsigned via me $15 US + $7 shipping + $1 paypal service fee = $23 US I recommend this. If you live in Vancouver, Canada and you're willing to meet I can sell you a signed copy for this price, but ONLY if you are in Vancouver! You pay ALL shipping! Keep in mind Vancouverites - I might be moving soon.
3. Signed $23 US + shipping (which includes secure packing) to wherever you are.
CANADA - $12.28 US - $18.28 WORLDWIDE - $34.29 As much as I want to give out signed copies, I can't recommend this third option. It's just plain expensive. If you want a signed copy enter my contests - you can get a free one from there.
To buy books through me, simply send me a note or an email (planetrimer@gmail.com) to tell me that you want it. I WILL NOT SELL YOU A BOOK VIA COMMENTS. For obvious reasons you must supply me an address to ship the book to. I take paypal, cheque or money order. :)
I apologize for the service fee, but I can't handle even paying a dollar for you guys (that's my royalty!). I didn't know about the fee, but I do now. I hope everyone who buys the book enjoys it. :)
Finally, something to show that I'm actually working on this! All of this done today; the timing is off because I have yet to record the narration, but it shall be fixed once that's done! Enjoy!
Still not perfectly content with these colours. Probably going to go back and work more on them later, when I'm less distracted by my other projects.
Gordon wanted me to be sparing on the colour, so I avoided using it as much as possible. Unfortunately, while I tried my best to make everything pale (except for the blood - wanted that to stand out) Kayoss looked just plain retarded with pale fur. So I painted him with the colours he has in my graphic short The Prayer Fulfilled but those looked stupidly red (I've never been completely happy with those colours) so I tried toning them down with some orange, thus miraculously finding the colours I've been TRYING to create for him for about half a decade.
Congratulations Kayoss. Your cartoony version has finally stopped looking so stupid.
Thanks to this over the holidays I'm going to have to go back and recolour every single panel of my comic with Kayoss in it. YAY.
In any case, I hope you have enjoyed the journey of this storyboard. You can witness the entire progression of its creation by looking back in older posts or searching 'storyboard' in the archives. Also, this storyboard isn't complete. I plan on adding to it and turning it into a fully coloured animatic complete with sound effects and some animation as well as music next semester!
So I did hand it in, taking a leap of faith and you know what? My professor loved it! So here are the revisions of pages 1-4 of my storyboard. I'm not doing it all at once this round partially because it's so much fun, but mostly because I'm taking the rest of the night off to take care of my health. (Always smart!) I'm going to go home, take a shower, maybe write some of my manuscript or read some fiction, then go to bed nice and early, at the latest 12. I'll work more on my storyboard (or bumper) tomorrow, along with probably some revisions on my layout. (If I know my teacher well enough, he'll have suggestions. I know my classmates already do.) In any case, please enjoy pages 1-4 of my revised layout! I look forwards to revising it some more next week! This is far too much fun!
Also, who's excited about the release of Walt Disney's new masterpiece The Princess and the Frog? I sure am! Apparently the film has already earned over $3.2 million dollars, which is a great start. Here's hoping it earns lots more and revives this industry if possible! Huzzah!
If you haven't seen it already, here's the beautiful trailer.
I don't have time to scan everything, but here's a promotional image from my novel Ashes of Hope. This is a scene which takes place in the prologue - enjoy!
OMG 12 weeks of this already? I'm so impressed by myself. I'm actually managing to keep this up. Here's to 100 more of these damn things! They're great!
This is concept art for a scene I'm adding to my manuscript Ashes of Hope - it depicts a salvo of copper elven sniper missiles slamming into Chartan.
Perhaps the most worthy 1st panel of any comic I've ever seen, not to be too pretentious. Definately my best star scape, rivaling even AOH's cover. The ship of course, is the U.N.E. Griffin and this is a scene from my novel. To those who watch this blog, enjoy!
Candice told me I should make a new blog, even though I don't really like blogger OR LJ, for promotional purposes, so here's a new one. I'll mainly just be posting art, but my writing will be promoted here as well. For starters, here is the cover art for my novel, Ashes of Hope.
'Copperbane' is the name of my book series, if you're wondering about this blog's title. Besides writing, comic and illustrative work, I'm also an animation student.
This animation was done before I joined the animation program at Capilano University, which I currently attend. I also currently work on a project called 'Speedie of the Week,' a series of speedpaints designed to learn and experiment with digital painting skills. It's also a good way of saying "thank you" to all my supporters on deviantART.
Here's some more recent animation which I take some pride in. I'm now a second year student.
More. Despite being a final project, I dislike this animation immensely. It just looks bad, though the fact that it does feature an old character of mine (the helicopter) does make me quite happy.
This was the best dialogue piece I did last year, and it was the first one. Hopefully Florian can help me not to screw up from now on. This was the only dialogue which I did well on.
Born March 18th 1990 in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada, Rosanna is currently a second year animation student at Capilano University in North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Besides animating, Rosanna also dreams of being an author, with her first book coming out this fall. When she isn't working hard on prose or animation, Rosanna is either sharpening her illustration skills, working on either of her comics, hiking or reading. To Rosanna, the only good hike is a very long one - 15km+!
Rosanna also runs a weekly Speedie of the Week. Keep tuned.
