I am never, ever doing an ink portrait of somebody's tabby ever again. Seriously - figuring out this cat's stripes took me like three freakin' hours and they're probably still inaccurate! Also, cats are for some reason diabolically hard for me to do in ink, even without ink. (I have NEVER ink illustrated a kitty that I liked! Never!) Oh well. Hopefully they like it. They waited a long time for this portrait of their little fellow. Glad to finally get this up - Vincent's been waiting to be uploaded for WEEKS!

ReplyDeleteThe eyes were my focus :) in all the reference photos, this cat had the most huge, endearing eyes and I wanted to replicate that.
