Velocity Rough Idea Comic

This is actually the very first rough comic I did exploring the story of Velocity and in this, we meet Tyanar's emaciated father Versuva, who is dying. Now, I'm not actually very sure about how this story is going to go yet except that it's going to be a multi-issue adventure story but right now the main pretext is reminding me a tiny bit too much of one of my manuscripts already in production so I'm going to have to change that. (Though since Velocity came from games that I played as a child with my plastic dinosaurs - yep, I was epic - Velocity really came first!) Anyway, enough of that! I hope you enjoy the short. I really like how Versuva looks in this and if you compare him (and Tya) to how she looks in the previous post, there's a lot of improvement. She looks less wolfy and more unique, which is important considering that she's supposed to be closer related to a modern hyena, not a wolf!

What's interesting is that this started as just concept art for Versuva, then I started writing and then I had to draw the scene that was in my head! It was mad.


*In case it's missed because of the cut off corner in the fourth page when Versuva falls down and he's talking to the swiftclaw, he's offering a bargain to them of his life for Tyanar's - aka, he's saying that he'll die quietly and be the swiftclaw's food if they save his daughter. Hmmmmm Versuva... personally I wouldn't trust a pack of raptors not to eat my daughter, but whatever floats your boat, half dead guy....
